    Notary office

    Post by davey.B on 11/02/10, 06:39 pm

    hi all,

After marrying and having obtained our documents from the Nanning register office we tried to take our marrige documets to the Nanning Notary Office today. The office is closed until 20 of February. I return to England on the 19 of February and I am now unclear what I should do ?
    Any advice ?
    Thanks
    Dave b.

Why do you need to take documents to the Nanning Notary Office? You have your marriage books. Your marriage is valid in the UK. You already have her birth certificate and house book because you needed them to get married. You have all your documents from the UK. What else do you need?

    Dave,
You may want to contact the Visa Office in Guangzhou to see if they are open during the Chinese New Year.
You may need to visit china again or your wife will have to visit the visa centre on her own to apply.

Dave, The Visa Centre in Guangzhou opens on 18th. They can legalise and translate any Chinese documents that you need to.
It's like a one stop shop, Visas, legalisation, translations, and photocopy's.

You can fly return in the same day, no problem.
The other option is to leave your documents with your wife. When she has completed her documentation she can then apply but make sure you have completed all of the VAF4A form in English, just leave the date blank. Tell her to fill in the date on the day she makes the application.

The Visa Centre keep all your documents anyway, and return them to your wife. She will need enough money for the Visa, biometrics, travel, and any legalisation/translations.
