Congratulations Kev and Yichun, now you can advise all the new members just how easy it is to marry, and good luck with the Visa application.

We are always around if you need any further advice, and keep us all posted of your adventures in China.

    Thanks for all your congratulations.
I will continue to use the forum, I think the marriage was the easy part thanks to all your good advice. Now things get a little more complicated but one step at a time. The weather here is a little hot and humid but not complaining ( could be at work in UK ) Looking forward to wedding dinner tomorrow evening.
    Thanks to all

    Just a quick update,
Wedding dinner went really well, YiChun looked beautiful. It was good to meet all her family again. We have now been and submitted the visa application, so we can relax and enjoy a few days in Nanning before I return to the UK.
Marriage, wedding dinner and visa aplication all done in just over 1 week thanks to all the great advice here
    Many thanks
    Kevin and YiChun

Hi Kev, very happy everything went as planed. This is just the beginning though.

Once YiChun is in the UK the fun starts again. Getting her name on accounts and bills, finding a suitable college for ESOL courses, even help to find a job. Then 2 years down the line it's time to deal with the UKBA again.
Either to extend her Visa (FLR), or if she acquires the necessary qualifications, ILR.

Not to mention how to teach her English style cooking, translating, helping with the homework, how to use a washing machine, and iron, and helping her get to grips with English culture. The first shopping trip will be an eye opener for her. Just wait until she tries to barter at the Asda checkout till !

Now your married to a Chinese woman, you will find you need the forum more than in the past.

I have moved some 13 posts to a newly headed section in Gen Conv, titled The Difference with Nanning.
Nothing wrong with the posts, but off topic to this section.
