    And another,

    See, I have been busy, Shocked

    This is probably the similar one that Al might have got from academy of oriental cuisine.

    Dear Guo Peng

    Thank you for your enquiry. Our A1 qualification meets the UKBA requirements.

    I cannot comment on the IELTS exam as I do not know their requirements. I do not know which level IELTS exam you would have to take as I do not work for them.

    That listening test is way above A1 standard!

    A1 standard is that of 7-12 year olds. The intruduction was spoken far to fast imo resulting in an inability to complete the writing.

    I listened to Han's test at two places and she came out as suitable for EL2. The A1 test was way above what she was expected to know for EL2.

    Hi Eric,

    Well Fay just done the test,

    http://www.coex.org.uk/samples.html

    section 1, no mistakes, but she didnt spell photographer right

    section 2 no mistakes

    section 3, put down true for the temperature of 40 deg C instaed of 14 deg c.

    This has given her loads of confidence.
    Is the pass 100% or what ? any idea?

    This made me laugh

    Sample questions:

    What is your favourite?
    Food = apple
    Place = China
    What do you like most about your job? = play computer
    What do you like to do in your spare time? = sleep

    Sample questions:
    What is a man in the picture doing? = using computer
    Where is he? = in an office
    What is he wearing? = tee shirt
    Would you say hes happy? If yes, why do you think so? = yes, he is happy, he is smiling

    Hi Graham,

    If you don't mind me using your e-mail address as registered on the forum, I can send you the sample test papers and audio listening as supplied by Oriental Quisine. If nothing else it should at least give you an idea of the standard of English listening and speaking that is required.

    Most of the pass grades are at 40, 50 or 60%.

    Look at the list of test centres for which I gave you the link.

    Check the column for the grades. That will tell you what level the UKBA want for each test as each provider may provide a different test.

    Typical of the UKBA not to provide a specific standard test as they try, without appearing to, to make life difficult for immigrants.
