New life in the UK test

Post by paulnottingham on 05/07/12, 07:36 pm

My wife and I will have been married for two years in February so are planning on her doing her life in the UK test round about october this year - this is when they are planning to introduce a new test????

so would she be able to sit the current test now - and would that still be valid?

    Hi Paul,

I presume your shortly applying for ILR and your question is in relation to that?

The answer is yes. Your wife can sit the LITUK test anytime and it will be valid for her ILR.

When does the 'new' test take effect?

I think the content has/will change but if the current test content is passed before any effective date for new content then it would be valid.

As a matter of interest, what happens if your wife cannot sing the National Anthem? Or, if her 'GOD' is not a Christian GOD but Buddha?

Buddha, save our gracious Queen, long live.........................?

I believe the new test is due to come into force around november - we are due to apply for ilr in december - the ukba helpline is of course useless, cant confirm dates and cant confirm if post november anything pre november wont count (not sure what happens to those who have ilr interviews the same day / day after the test changes)
