    Usefull information/contact worth keeping?

Post by makem on 09/08/12, 11:18 am

Reply received today, with apology for lateness, in answer to a question about the application of new UKBA Rules from 9th July 2012:

The Government has published a detailed statement of intent available at the link below. (See right hand side of the page: family migration: Statement of intent). You should take a look at the details of this statement of intent document which sets out a clear statement of the policy on family migration including who the policy applies to and when it applies. I draw your attention in particular to the transitional arrangements on p34-36 of that document which set out what happens when someone has leave to remain prior to 9 July.

EDIT: 'leave to remain prior to 9 July.', means was given 'Entry Clearance as the Spouse of a UK Citizen' (You), prior to 9 July 2012.

Read this. It gives great case studies.

I hope I have been able to copy it correctly.

That was a very good and entertaining read. Although quite long and time consuming I'd recommend all members to read it.

I would also be a victim of the new rules if going through the settlement process again.

I types out a reply, got distracted by my new car, came back to it, refreshed the page and lost t.

Can't justify the time to start again.

The point is in the post the question extracted the answer so you should be able to work it out lol
