    English test centre in Nanning?

    Post by karladam1234 on 18/01/15, 02:29 am

    Hi All,
I could do with a little help finding a English test centre in Nanning.

My girlfriend lives in Beihai south of Nanning, there is training schools here, but no test centre for the speaking and listening test.
So the best choice is if there is a test centre in Nanning, I have tried finding addresses on line but can only find them in Guangzhou.

Any help with the address or website would be great

    Many thanks in advance

    Cheers Karl

Thanks for the link I will have a look at it. I did try to find a center in Nanning before, But I could not find one.

She will need the speaking and listening test for a spouse visa, that we will apply for once we get married.

So from other reading I have done I know she needs to do this before we can apply.

So does anyone know were the center is In Nanning?

    Hi.

I cant find anything in Nanning. At least the g/f will be able to take the fast train to Guangzhou.

Lian used this crowd. They seemed OK. We had to chase them for the results but thats China. The web page can be seen in Chinese as well - just change the language setting at the top of the page, so that may help the g/f.

Many thanks for that link, I have been searching for weeks and not found the information like this, I nearly gave up and I was ready to book her a flight to the UK and do the test in the UK.
Hopefully I will be able to get in touch with these people in your link and book her a test. She has been waiting for her nephew to call her about tests in Nanning Uni.

Funny too my GF is named Lian too, with a Shi in front of it LOL

    Ok no probs.

Has ShiLian been to the UK before? You up to speed on all the latest and greatest immigration rules and regs? If you want, PM me ShiLians QQ number and Lian can contact her. I dont know where that place is in GZ as Lian went there herself from Shenzhen. If I remember correctly I paid here in the UK and she sat the test in GZ somewhere.

Thanks again, I have emailed them to ask about the test with them, as there were many approved centres that were stopped last year and I think the new rules need the test to be secure on line results etc.

How long ago was it when your Lian did her test there?

My Lian came to the UK last year for 3 months and I am always going to China. I am still here now, just doing all the paperwork and things to get married. Too many things to check and get sorted out hehe. Had our medicals this morning, so maybe get married next week and then plan all the other stuff for later in February.

I will chat with My Lian about QQ, it might be good for her to speak to someone that has been though the test and the UK Visa hell

    cheers

I spoke to my Lian and she is happy for me to send you her QQ number.

Problem is I can not seem to PM you, as it states I need more posts or something like that, maybe you can PM me and then I can reply to it?

Don`t want to put it onto an open forum

Thanks for the PM, But I can still can not send a reply to you LOL

It is a bit like the day I am having here...

Marriage office have just called, they don`t like the CNI I have, not worded the same as others they have had in the past.
I will print out a Affidavit template I have just downloaded from the Net... I hope this is ok for them, if not it looks like I will have to go to Guangzhou and get it stamped.

I thought marriage in China was easy LOL

I got the CNI in UK waited 21 days for it to be issued, then sent to the FCO and then 2 trips to Manchester to get the Chinese stamp on it too. So 120 later and 3 days off work, it looks like I did not need it here in Beihai, just a simple Affidavit to say I am single.

I will keep you posted and make more posts, so I can PM you....

    Cheers

Well what can I say... Beihai Reg office is a waste of time lol

They have refused my English CNI and translation
They then refused my Affidavit too, saying this was for US people only.
So after a little bit of talking and me getting a little angry, I think I know the problem now and I will have to make the trip to Guangzhou and visit the British Embassy on Monday morning.

They say it is the wording that is not correct, it states I am single, but it needs to say single never married. What a joke, only four types I know of in the UK. Single, divorced, widowed and married.

I hope what ever the UK embassy give me is ok this time, but the GF said to me, the clerk said if it comes from Guangzhou it will be ok. Sounds like they just do not understand the translation or the meaning of single. Or the clerk is a jobsworth or did not like me.

That is a thought, but I am sure if I went to get a CNI from the UK, it would not state this on the CNI, it would still say married.

    Thanks for your reply

There is no category for separated.

If you are separated you are not legally entitled to marry/ re-marry etc.

Karl have you had a good look on here re the marriage process and the CNI requirements. I can appreciate that you racing around at present trying to get everything done, but a good rummage on here might help you a lot.

When you planning to get married?

The CNI is no longer accepted in China!

Here is an extract from https://britconguangzhou.clickbook.net/sub/britconguangzhou#.VMIAwEeLLA0

Please note: From Monday 18th August 2014 Marriage Registration Offices in China will no longer accept Certificates of No Impediment (CNI). We have stopped offering this service. You will now need to obtain a Affidavit/Affirmation of Marital Status, which is a same-day service and requires no notice period.

Yes many thanks for this information, the embassy in Guangzhou explained to me over the phone this morning, that things have changed. I have got to email them the CNI I got from the UK and they will convert it for me and then make an appointment for me to go and collect it. Plus a fee too as usual, another 1,000 rmb or so LOL

GBA.... I will get married as soon as I get this new piece of paper from Guangzhou, then up to Shilian when we have the meal and other things, I am in no rush to go back to the UK, I was planning on changing my Visa once I have the Red Book to stay awhile longer here. Medicals results all OK today.

Anyone had any experience of visa changing in China?

Thanks for the info, this is what I have read, I will go and see them on Monday and explain what I require.

As I should have gone back to the UK today, but I was going to stay longer anyway, my current visa runs out on the 18th Feb, Manchester gave me a 90 day visa. too cold back in the UK LOL

I also need to inform them about the dates on my temp Res form, it would have been easier if I had the red book before I go, so hopefully next week things will get sorted out and I will have my red book to take to them to change my visa.

    Cheers

I can now send PM`s hehe Thanks to the help from you guys.

GBA, I will look at your posts over the next few weeks and catch up on the problems you had getting Lian into the UK. I am lucky in a way about this I think, as we have been able to spend a lot of time together in the last 12 months, totaling 6 months, so I hope we do not get refused on the grounds of no time in a relationship....

As soon as I have the right paperwork and have managed to get married, I will post an update on the forum as to what is needed. The information here was the same as I found before in the UK, but as we now know this is old info now.

It seems it will be easier to get married now in China for UK people, one day at the Embassy near were you want to marry and cheaper in the end too. Just download the 2 forms, fill them out and make an appointment, no 21 days waiting time and sending to FCO and Chinese embassy too. So all that money wasted before on my CNI from the UK, shows that even the UK are not update at the Reg offices either. But if I can remember the Reg office did say, is this what you require? And it was up to me to check current laws etc. I was just unlucky to get mine at a time of change, most of the other forums are still showing the old list of requirements too. Hopefully this forum will be bang up to date soon.

    Cheers K

GBA... Many thanks to your wife for the information about the A1 test, medical TB centre and the very useful practice paperwork too. I am going out today to buy a printer/scanner, so I can do the test with my Lian. Plus it will come in useful with all the other paperwork for the Visa later in the year.

I have had time to think about a few things last night and decided to get a lot of things done while I am here in China with Lian. I am going to try and get the English test, TB test and the paperwork from the Embassy in Guangzhou in one visit. All rush I know, English test needs booking and be paid for on Monday 26th Jan. The test is on 14th Feb, with a few days induction before, so hopefully a 5 day trip will get every thing sorted out. I will make appointments on different days, just in case it takes longer to do things. Then come back to Beihai and get married. Then sort out wedding meal/photos and many other things.... Wish me luck hehe

It's the Public Security Bureau (PSB) not any police station. PSB is a police department also. Good luck and best wishes for your future happiness.
