I understand that the UK border agency are now starting to issue I.D card.
So if you Apply for your ILR I sure you will be asked to go to one of the centers for the checks for this.
I believe it will be a Photo and finger prints.Very Happy Cool

Just to up date you on the I.D.cards.

You will receive a letter asking you to book appointment you will have 15 days from the date on the letter, so get it booked as quickly as possible, or you application will be invalid, which may cost you even more money.
The whole thing will take about 30 mins

    Hi Peter,

I know they started issuing ID cards from 25th November. Ling had her bio metrics taken, photo, fingerprints etc, for her Visa application, so would they already have these on file, and able to issue an ID card when we apply for her ILR, or would she have to have them done again ?

I was a little suprised they did not issue her with a card when her application was processed.

    Hi Alan...
When Ling go's for her I.D.Card she will be asked if she has had her finger prints taken before or her face image.
So to answer your question yes she will still have to go for her I.D. card, it takes about 10 mins but allow more time as you find they are very bussy.

Mei had her biometrics taken for her visa application in 2007. I think they were doing this so they could catch anyone who was refused a visa trying to apply again using a different name...

Just to let you know that Lisa went to the F/O at Croydon on the 9th April 09 so she should have her I.D. next week.
As I said earlier it that's 10 min to do but it will take about hour from when you arrive to when you leave. Very Happy
